Children’s Pastor
First Baptist Church of Opelika is seeking a full-time Children’s Pastor to lead and grow a Christ-centered ministry for children and their families. This role focuses on evangelism, discipleship, and partnering with parents to help children grow in their faith while actively contributing to the church’s mission. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader and communicator with a passion for reaching the next generation.

Full-time, salaried at 40 hours per week (exempt)
Responsibilities
Work with parents and staff in the formulation of a family discipleship strategy for children and parents (or guardians).
Fulfill pastoral care responsibilities including hospital visits, meetings, and other ministry opportunities.
Promote growth by seeing every child actively growing in their faith.
Share the love of Jesus with children in our church and community.
Make decisions on effective programs to impact children.
Exhibit a positive and cooperative attitude and foster team spirit.
Encourage and motivate children to grow in their commitment and connection to the body of Christ and contribute to the mission of Christ.
Develop and oversee the children’s ministry budget annually to utilize resources effectively and maximize opportunities.
Qualifications
3-5 years of experience or assisting in leading in a large church setting.
Effective listening and clear communication skills, both oral and written.
Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
Must pass pre-employment comprehensive and sexual misconduct background check.
Pastoral
Duties
Perform baptisms, weddings, funerals, hospital visits, and counseling as needed.
Participate in outreach events and other ministries as part of the FBCO pastoral team.
