We are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced and strategic Chief Program Officer (CPO). A successful candidate will have experience in a non-profit environment working with members of a team to advance an organization’s mission. The CPO is responsible for developing and implementing the strategy for expanding into underserved areas, to include revitalizing existing conferences.
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston (SVdP), is a grassroots, volunteer-based, direct-aid organization that brings together men and women to grow in their spirituality through service of others. Location: Archdiocesan Council Office (2403 Holcombe Blvd, Houston)
Essential Responsibilities:
Ability to travel throughout the Houston-Galveston region 20% – 40% of the time.
Monitor performances toward the achievement of strategic goals and objectives and coaching in areas of opportunities for improvement.
Champion the professional growth and career development of program staff, creating and promoting opportunities for continuous learning and advancement.
Formulate and implement strategies for new program development and expansion, setting goal deliverables that uphold the organization’s mission, vision and values.
Ensure the execution of high-quality program services across the 10-county area.
Collaborate with development and finance departments to identify and secure new funding opportunities and craft compelling cases for support that drive program innovation and growth.
Visualize and communicate comprehensive data analysis from program evaluations to generate insightful executive-level reports.
Establish collaborative community and corporate partnerships to continue a culture of inclusive teamwork and innovation.
Develop and maintain stakeholder relationships to significantly boost brand awareness and expand services and advance initiatives.
Actively participate in public relation activities to promote SVdP’s mission, vision, and brand identity.
Develop and oversee program budgets, ensuring good financial practices and government compliances.
Establish, implement, and maintain policies and procedures to guarantee compliance with grant requirements and the organization’s commitment to excellence.
Effectively engage diverse communities to address disparities.
Supervise/manage/direct the selection, training, development, appraisal and work assignments of personnel.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university in a human service field required
Master’s degree (M. A.) or equivalent preferred
7+ years of experience in nonprofit preferred with 3+ years in leadership
Previous experience in community organizing required
Highly proficient using technology as a management reporting tool, with experience developing and implementing program evaluation systems
Thorough understanding of Catholic Faith and Spiritual Teachings; Active Catholic strongly preferred
