Position Overview

One of Hawaii’s largest nonprofit social services organizations seeks a fiscally adept Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead internal operations, drive strategic initiatives, and enhance organizational effectiveness. This executive role ensures the efficient delivery of community-based programs and services while fostering a mission-driven culture. The COO will collaborate closely with the CEO and senior leadership to implement operational strategies, oversee financial and administrative functions, and improve processes to maximize the organization’s impact across Hawaii.

Responsibilities

Lead the organization’s day-to-day operations, ensuring alignment with its mission and strategic goals.

Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and resource allocation to sustain and grow programs.

Analyze internal operations and identify areas for efficiency, process improvement, and integration.

Develop and maintain key performance metrics and reporting structures to track operational success.

Foster a high-performance organizational culture through talent development and leadership coaching.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations governing nonprofit operations.

Collaborate with external partners and stakeholders to strengthen community impact.

Skills

Requirements

Master’s degree (MS/MA) in Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, or a related field.

10+ years of senior leadership experience, ideally in a nonprofit, social services, or mission-driven organization.

Proven track record in operations management, strategic planning, and financial oversight.

Deep understanding of compliance, governance, and risk management in the nonprofit sector.

Passion for community service, social justice, and improving the lives of vulnerable populations.
