Position is best for someone with a few years of experience working as a lawyer or CPA who wants to transition into wealth management or fundraising for college or university.
Core Responsibilities
- Drive the principal’s priorities and operating rhythm: organize agendas, follow‑ups, and projects.
- Support client work: research planning and tax topics, prepare meeting materials, attend selected client meetings, capture notes, and track action items.
- Support investment and compliance work: assist with portfolio and planning workflows under supervision; help maintain procedures, checklists, and documentation.
- Content and thought leadership: help with columns, articles, presentations, and book‑related materials on investor protection and financial literacy.
- Internal coordination: liaise with operations, custodians, outside professionals, and nonprofit/education partners to keep initiatives on track.
Qualifications
- Strong organizational and project management skills to oversee operations, coordinate cross-team efforts, and manage priorities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, including copy editing skills.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities to address challenges and align actions with business goals.
- Experience in law or financial services, investment management, or wealth advisory is highly desirable.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., JD, MBA, CFA, CFP) are a plus.
- A preference for lawyers who want to transition from legal practice.
- High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism with the ability to handle sensitive information.
Compensation is based on experience, starting at between $80,000 – $100,000 annually with the potential for performance bonuses. Benefits include 401(k); cash balance plan; profit sharing, after eligibility.
