About National Alzheimer’s Buddies (NAB):
National Alzheimer’s Buddies (NAB) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of individuals affected by Alzheimer’s disease. NAB seeks to alleviate the often-overlooked emotional and social challenges that stem from Alzheimer’s by building friendships between college students and Alzheimer’s residents that bring out the beauty of the person still present.
Position Overview:
The CIO manages NAB’s impact initiatives and leads all efforts related to community outreach and program development across chapters, while overseeing the measurement, evaluation, and expansion of organizational impact. The CIO works most closely with committee members and the Executive Team, which includes the CEO, COO, CMO, and CFO. Please note that all positions are volunteer-based.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attends weekly Board and Committee meetings; leads weekly Impact Committee meetings
- Plans and executes yearly, monthly, and weekly goals for the Impact Committee in collaboration with committee members
- Oversees and manages Impact Committee subcommittees (e.g., community outreach, program development, impact evaluation), ensuring alignment with organizational priorities
- Leads the establishment of community-based NAB chapters and impact-driven initiatives across existing chapters throughout the U.S.
- Supports the development and expansion of national initiatives, including contributions to NAB’s annual symposium and other large-scale programs
- Works with chapter leaders to strengthen community engagement, program quality, and consistency of impact across sites
- Helps develop and implement systems to track, evaluate, and improve organizational impact across chapters
Preferred Qualifications:
- Former experience in an Alzheimer’s Buddies chapter, ideally at the level of Co-Director.
- Has a strong passion for improving community initiatives in NAB and has an understanding of systemic inequities in Alzheimer’s care.
- Has experience in community outreach, especially to underserved communities. Is able to establish trust with community partners and diverse community members.
- Has leadership experience and is comfortable delegating and organizing responsibilities with team members, and managing subcommittees
- Has experience working in a remote team environment and is able to quickly communicate with other Executives, Board, and Committee members, especially through platforms like Slack, Google Meet, and email.
- Responsive to feedback and able to adapt to changes.
Commitment:
- Term: July 1, 2026 – June 30, 2027
- Time: 5-8 hours per week
