Role Summary:
The CFO is responsible for overseeing the full financial management of the organization, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, strong internal controls, and full compliance with regulatory and audit requirements. Reporting directly to the CEO, this leader will serve as a key strategic partner in guiding organizational direction, financial sustainability, and long-term growth.
This role oversees the Accounting Department, including payroll, and works collaboratively with department leaders to maintain a strong, agency-wide internal control system. The CFO ensures timely and accurate financial reporting on a quarterly basis, including program-specific and consolidated statements, and provides clear analysis of financial performance, including budgets versus actuals. A key part of the role includes advising executive leadership on financial health, identifying risks and opportunities, and helping shape strategic decisions that impact the organization’s future.
In addition, the CFO plays a critical role in overseeing budgets and modifications, ensuring compliance with complex funding requirements, and working closely with external auditors. This position also presents financial updates to the Board of Directors and contributes to identifying opportunities for program and organizational expansion.
