Seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the financial operations of our growing nonprofit. Reporting to the Executive Director and serving as a key member of the leadership team, the CFO will be responsible for financial strategy, planning, reporting, and compliance to ensure long-term sustainability and mission impact.
What You’ll Do
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning
• Manage day-to-day accounting, internal controls, and financial operations
• Oversee audit preparation, tax filings (e.g., Form 990), and regulatory compliance
• Partner with development staff on grant budgeting and reporting
• Present financial reports to the Executive Director, Board of Directors, and Finance Committee
• Supervise finance staff and collaborate cross-functionally with HR and operations
What You Bring
• Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred)
• 7+ years of finance/accounting experience, including nonprofit leadership
• Strong understanding of nonprofit financial practices, including fund accounting
• Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, etc.) and Excel
• Strategic mindset, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative approach
