Pay Range: $327,429 – $425,500

Travel: Periodic local and statewide travel as necessary for organizational operations, community engagement, advocacy, conferences, and stakeholder relations.

About UCP

For more than 70 years, UCP of Sacramento and Northern California has empowered children and adults with developmental disabilities to live lives without limits. Each month, UCP serves more than 3,600 individuals throughout an eight-county region by providing high-quality, person-centered programs that promote independence, inclusion, and opportunity.

Our services include family respite care, autism services for children, adult day programs, transportation, supported living, community integration, and therapeutic horsemanship. We proudly support individuals with autism, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, epilepsy, intellectual disabilities, and other developmental disabilities while advocating for greater independence and full community participation.

As we continue to grow our impact, we are seeking an experienced, visionary leader to serve as our next Chief Executive Officer/President.

Position Summary

The President and Chief Executive Officer role is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, and operational excellence of both UCP of Sacramento and Northern California and the affiliated UCP Foundation. Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the CEO partners with the Board, staff, donors, and community stakeholders to advance the organization's mission while ensuring financial sustainability, regulatory compliance, and long-term organizational success.

This executive leadership role requires an individual who can balance mission-driven leadership with sound business practices, foster a culture of accountability and innovation, and inspire confidence among employees, families, donors, and community partners.

The Opportunity

The CEO role is designed to provide strategic leadership for both UCP and the UCP Foundation.

Partnering with the Board of Directors to establish organizational priorities and execute long-term strategic initiatives, the CEO role leads all organizational operations, programs, and administrative functions while ensuring high-quality service delivery and long-term financial sustainability. Serving as UCP's chief spokesperson and advocate throughout the region, the CEO supports a team of talented senior leadership who believe in fostering an inclusive, collaborative workplace culture.

What You'll Bring

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Significant executive leadership experience in a nonprofit, healthcare, human services, or related mission-driven organization.
  • Demonstrated success partnering with Boards of Directors and leading complex organizations.
  • Strong financial management and strategic planning experience.
  • A successful track record in fundraising, donor engagement, and relationship development.
  • Exceptional communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
  • Experience leading organizational growth, managing change, and developing high-performing teams.
  • Knowledge of nonprofit governance, fiduciary responsibilities, and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience serving individuals with disabilities or other vulnerable populations is highly desirable.
