Position: Chief Executive Officer – Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater High Point
An exciting opportunity to lead our Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater High Point (BGCGHP) is open, and we are looking for our next Chief Executive Officer to make a positive impact on kids’ lives. We’re seeking candidates who will lead the overall planning and operation of the organization — providing leadership, direction, and support to the Board of Directors. You will be responsible for bringing the organization’s mission to life by ensuring that kids and teens achieve great futures through a safe, engaging Club experience and by managing caring professionals.
As a testament to the organization’s impact, 54% of national Club alumni report a life-altering experience. This underscores the incredible opportunity to make a profound difference in youth lives, aiming to increase the number of youths served and improve program efficacy. The new CEO will set the vision, garner community support, and harness resources to enhance this impact.
Responsibilities
Implement strategic plans, annual goals, and objectives; manage finances, programs, and administration; provide organizational leadership, guided by the Chair of the Board and the Board’s Executive Committee.
Promote BGCGHP services within the community and collaborate with other organizations through effective communication.
Lead public relations and fundraising efforts, including soliciting donations and gifts.
Establish organizational goals and budgets; develop policies and procedures.
Monitor and approve program services to ensure alignment with BGCGHP’s mission and goals, in collaboration with the Board.
Oversee financial resources and ensure legal compliance for stable operations.
Manage staffing activities, including recruiting, training, mentoring, and evaluating staff and volunteers.
Provide leadership to staff by developing standards to meet organizational goals.
Lead the Board of Directors in developing an effective, motivated board through recruitment, training, and engagement.
Ensure safety is a core value; conform to membership and industry standards; engage in safety improvement processes.
Maintain compliance with standards of Boys & Girls Clubs of America and other agencies, with measures to ensure safety and risk mitigation.
Serve as escalation point for incidents, ensuring timely reporting and documentation.
Undertake special projects as assigned by the Board.
Report directly to the Board of Directors.
Qualifications
Proven ability to organize, direct, plan, and coordinate operations in a multi-unit organization.
Leadership skills including negotiation, problem-solving, decision-making, and delegation.
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with ability to engage groups and individuals persuasively.
Experience maintaining effective relationships with a Board, staff, community groups, and agencies.
Ability to supervise professionals and volunteers across different units.
Advanced knowledge in asset management, including financial and property resources.
Preferred skills include familiarity with nonprofit principles, resource development, and understanding of Boys & Girls Clubs’ mission and policies.
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
