Role Description
We are seeking a Chief Development Officer (CDO) for a full-time, on-site leadership role based in Grosse Pointe, MI. The CDO will oversee and strategize the organization's fundraising efforts, including planned giving, annual giving, and philanthropic engagement. Responsibilities include leading fundraising campaigns, developing and executing strategic plans, creating budgets, fostering donor relationships, and identifying new funding opportunities. The CDO will play a key role in ensuring the financial sustainability of Matrix Human Services while aligning development initiatives with our mission and goals.
Qualifications
- Expertise in Planned Giving, Annual Giving, and fostering relationships with individual and institutional donors
- Strong background in Philanthropy, with the ability to lead and execute successful fundraising initiatives
- Experience in Strategic Planning and creating comprehensive development strategies
- Proficiency in Budgeting and financial management
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong partnerships with stakeholders
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Nonprofit Management, Communications, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
- Significant experience in nonprofit development roles and leading fundraising teams
