Founded at Temple University, Health-Link Society (HLS) is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing volunteering opportunities within marginalized and local communities. Our organization distinguishes itself by offering a myriad of activities in an inclusive environment. With events like food drives, blood drives in partnership with the American Red Cross, and fundraisers, we’ve made significant impacts in various communities. Our primary goal is to expand our reach and amplify our impact. 

We are excited to announce an opportunity for a 6-month long, unpaid part-time internship with Health-Link Society. We are primarily looking for individuals who are passionate about health-related fields and are interested in positively impacting their community. Interns will be able to work with a dynamic team and gain valuable experience in their field of interest, with a time commitment of around 3-5 hours per week. Upon completion of the internship, interns may be offered a part or full-time position as an employee and/or stakeholder of the company based on their interests and performance.

Role Overview:

As a Chapter Development and Recruitment Intern, you will play a pivotal role in spearheading our chapter campaign and fostering relationships with both prospective and existing chapters. You will be responsible for not only ensuring the smooth operation of our chapters but also for establishing and nurturing collaborations and partnerships with external organizations, such as major food drives and other companies. 

Key Responsibilities

Take a leadership role in driving our chapter campaign, which involves the establishment and growth of local chapters.

Work closely with the team to develop strategies for expanding our chapter network.

Act as the primary point of contact for our chapters, providing guidance, resources, and support to ensure their effective functioning.

Foster a sense of community among chapters, encouraging knowledge sharing and best practice dissemination.

Identify and approach potential collaborators and partners, such as major food drives and companies, to enhance our organization’s reach and impact.

Develop and maintain relationships with external entities to facilitate mutually beneficial partnerships.

Communicate effectively with both internal team members and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and collaboration.

Develop and deliver compelling pitches and presentations to engage potential partners.

Qualifications

Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program

Experience handling chapters for 1-2 years is preferred.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Self-motivated and able to work independently.

Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.

An interest in nonprofit work, community engagement, or social impact is a plus.

Note: While this is an unpaid internship, it offers invaluable learning experiences and potential growth opportunities within HLS, contingent upon performance and organizational needs.
