Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to join our dynamic financial team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a broad range of accounting functions, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and providing expert financial/Tax advice to clients. This role offers an excellent opportunity to apply advanced accounting knowledge, including corporate accounting, tax law, and financial analysis, within a professional environment committed to integrity and excellence. The CPA will play a pivotal role in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing comprehensive reports, and supporting strategic decision-making processes. This position is a Hybrid position. You would need to go into the office at times.

Duties

  • Prepare and review complex tax returns for individuals, corporations, and non-profit organizations, ensuring compliance with current tax laws and regulations.
  • Conduct detailed audits in accordance with auditing standards and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) requirements to verify financial accuracy and internal controls.
  • Provide expert guidance on estate planning, wills, trusts, and estate law to assist clients in structuring their assets efficiently.
  • Manage regulatory reporting obligations including GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) compliance and financial statement preparation.
  • Perform account reconciliations such as balance sheet reconciliation, general ledger accounting, and account analysis to ensure data integrity.
  • Support mergers & acquisitions by conducting due diligence, financial analysis, and integration of financial systems.
  • Utilize various accounting software platforms such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, and specialized financial reporting tools for accurate bookkeeping and financial management.
  • Advise clients on tax planning strategies related to corporate tax expertise, individual tax, LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit), securities law compliance, and tax reporting.
  • Analyze financial concepts including debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, asset management, and investment analysis to inform client decisions.
  • Communicate complex financial information clearly to clients through detailed reports and presentations.
  • Assist with payroll processing, accounts payable management, budgeting activities, and asset management tasks.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax law changes and regulatory compliance requirements affecting various industries.

Experience

  • A minimum of three years of professional experience in public accounting or corporate accounting roles with a focus on tax compliance and financial reporting.
  • CPA degree and certification
  • Proven expertise in tax accounting including individual tax return preparation, corporate tax planning, mergers & acquisitions support, and regulatory compliance accounting.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP standards along with technical accounting skills related to financial statement interpretation and report writing.
  • Experience working with diverse accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms for bookkeeping and financial analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform audits in accordance with SOX standards while maintaining high levels of accuracy.
  • Knowledge of estate planning strategies involving wills, trusts & estate law is highly desirable.
  • Excellent analytical skills combined with effective client communication abilities to explain complex financial concepts clearly.
  • Familiarity with non-profit accounting practices as well as private equity or asset management environments is advantageous.
