Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) – SLC Utah
Full-Time | Home Health and Hospice
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8am–5pm, on-call, holiday rotation as needed
Position Summary
CNS is seeking a compassionate Full-Time Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to support Home Health and Hospice patients in the greater SLC area. This role offers meaningful 1:1 care, greater autonomy, and the opportunity to work with a mix of adult and some pediatric patients.
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly: Starting at $18.00+, We offer more hourly based on experience, education and work history.
- Mileage: mile reimbursement for qualified travel

Key Responsibilities
- Provide personal care assistance to Home Health and Hospice patients including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting
- Assist patients with mobility, transfers, and positioning to ensure comfort and safety
- Monitor and report changes in patient condition to supervising RN
- Assist with light housekeeping duties related to patient care areas
- Provide companionship and emotional support to patients and families
- Help with meal preparation and feeding assistance as needed
- Take and record vital signs including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure
- Document care provided and patient observations accurately and timely
- Follow individualized care plans developed by the RN and care team
- Coordinate care with RNs, social workers, chaplains, and interdisciplinary team members
- Maintain patient dignity, privacy, and comfort at all times
- Adhere to safety, infection control, and HIPAA guidelines
Qualifications
- Current Utah CNA certification in good standing (or able to obtain upon hire)
- CPR/BLS certification required (or able to obtain within 30 days of hire)
- Home health or hospice experience preferred; pediatric experience a plus
- Compassionate, patient-centered approach to caregiving
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Valid driver’s license and current auto insurance
- Ability to manage field-based caseload and flexible schedule
- Comfort working in diverse home environments
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, transfer, and reposition patients (up to 50 lbs frequently, more with assistance)
- Ability to drive through Salt Lake City and surrounding areas as needed.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, and squat for extended periods
- Ability to navigate stairs and various home environments
- Physical stamina to provide hands-on patient care throughout the day
