Region 21 Emergency Management & Region 21 CERT

CERT volunteers receive free additional training through regular meetings and continuing education sessions. Once you join the Region 21 CERT Team, you will receive a free Basic Response Bag. To learn more about CERT training courses and to register for the CERT classes, contact the Region 21 Emergency Management office.

Description

CERT volunteers will have opportunities to participate in disaster exercises, promote emergency preparedness at community events, and respond to disasters in coordination with emergency responders in our area, helping their neighborhood or workplace.

The CERT Program educates people about disaster preparedness and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, and disaster medical operations. Using this training, citizens will learn how to prepare for disasters ahead of time, and what to do if there is an incident.
