Are you a reliable and safety-conscious CDL Driver looking to make a difference in the lives of young people? The Boys & Girls Club of Southeastern Michigan (BGCSM) is seeking a dedicated and responsible CDL Driver to transport our club members safely to and from programs, events, and activities. This role is essential in ensuring our youth have access to opportunities while maintaining the highest safety standards.

Variety: Drive both a 15-passenger van and a 26-passenger shuttle, assist with club programs, and help with operational tasks when not driving.
Key Responsibilities:
Before Driving:
Review transportation policies and daily routes.
Inspect the vehicle for gas, oil, water, and safety concerns.
Complete the driver/vehicle checklist.
Passenger Safety:
Communicate safety rules and expectations to passengers.
Ensure passenger numbers do not exceed available seats.
While Driving:
Follow all traffic laws and maintain a safe speed.
Maintain order and discipline, serving as a role model for youth.
After Driving:
Inspect the vehicle and report any safety or maintenance issues.
Complete the Vehicle Trip Information Report.
Vehicle Maintenance:
Ensure the vehicle is serviced according to schedule.
Conduct daily inspections for repair needs and cleanliness.
Additional Responsibilities:
Report any incidents, delays, or accidents.
Assist with club programs when not driving.
Transport materials between clubs or event locations.
Participate in training to enhance knowledge and skills.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED required
Minimum of 2 years’ professional driving experience
Valid CDL with Passenger (P) Endorsement
Clean seven-year Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)
Ability to pass pre-employment & random drug/alcohol tests
Experience driving in urban environments & inclement weather
Strong communication & interpersonal skills
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings & weekends
Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. We also move items from club to club and for events
