Availability of Position:Immediate

Schedule:Monday through Friday; 8:00am-4:00pm;
Additional days and hours as needed

Reporting Relationship:Director of Social Ministries

Salary/Grade:72;
Non-Exempt

Position Overview:

Oversee organization and record keeping for corps financial assistance work.

Schedule appointments with clients; secure required information; provide referrals or assistance as helpful.

Work with assigned shelter guests and work toward completion of housing plan.

Ensure complete files are maintained for each client, that files are removed per approved retention schedule, and that all files are handled in a confidential manner.

Ensure information is entered into record-keeping systems required by funders.

Monitor various funding streams available for providing assistance; discuss non-funded needs with officers.

Complete reports required by funders and have approved by Corps Officer before submission.

Assist with government grant proposals and reports, as requested.

Provide social service statistics for recording into the nationally approved system.

Communicate with Corps Officers via email or in-person regarding any concerns.

The Caseworker is responsible for all aspects of providinghands-onassistance to those struggling with homelessness, housing, and utility service insecurity. The Caseworker will conduct interviews with clients seeking assistance for various human service needs and making referrals to other area agencies for further services if needed. The Caseworker must maintain daily records of clients including but not limited to case notes/forms/files/correspondence/statistical information and housing plans.

Qualifications

Requirements:

A high school graduate; 2+ years of social work experience; some college preferred with emphasis in social work.

General competency of computer software applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, and internet).

Good administrative and organizational skills along with good oral and writtencommunication skills.

Must have a valid driver license, and be approved to drive within The Salvation Army’s system.

Child Protection Clearances PA Act 153 requires that all prospective employees complete the following clearance and background checks prior to employment: PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check.
