Huis Lettie Theron is a program of Badisa, a joint ministry initiative of the Dutch Reformed Church [Western Cape]and the United Reformed Church in Southern Africa [Cape]. Applications are invited from enthusiastic, responsible, and motivated individuals for this position.
- Dedicated, responsible and motivated individuals are invited to apply for this Carer position, at Huis Lettie Theron, Hermanus.
- The successful applicant must have strong interpersonal, communication, organisational, planning and caring skills, and must be able to work well in a team.
- The applicant should be able to identify existing and potential problems, challenges and care needs of residents, and provide prompt feedback to the Nurse in Charge.
Requirements
- Certificate in Home-Based Care Level 3, with at least four years’ experience.
- Fully bilingual in Afrikaans and English, with the ability to speak, read and write in both languages.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of the care needs and requirements of the elderly.
- Ability to provide companionship, physical and emotional support, and to assist residents with social activities.
- Accurate and up to date record keeping and documentation is required.
- Availability to work in accordance with pre-determined rotational shifts, including day and night shifts, weekends and public holidays.
Remuneration and Leave
- Market-related, negotiable salary, in accordance with Badisa guidelines.
- Sick leave, annual leave and Provident Fund benefits are included.
