CVR is seeking a Career Exploration Skills Trainer (VR Programs) to join our team. This innovative full-time position will play a key role in expanding CVR’s Virtual Reality (VR) Career Exploration Program, delivering Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) to students with disabilities through engaging and immersive VR technology. Working in partnership with the Program Coordinator, the Skills Trainer will support students as they explore career pathways, develop workplace readiness and self-advocacy skills, and build the confidence needed to pursue meaningful employment and post-secondary opportunities. The ideal candidate is passionate about empowering youth with disabilities through innovative learning experiences and is able to travel throughout Monmouth, Ocean, Middlesex, and Mercer Counties to provide services and support program implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate and support VR Career Exploration sessions using Meta Quest technology.
- Provide coaching and individualized support to students with disabilities.
- Reinforce workplace readiness, communication, self-advocacy, and employability skills.
- Assist with setup, maintenance, transportation, and inventory of VR equipment.
- Maintain participant documentation and attendance records.
- Travel to local schools, community agencies, and outreach events.
- Support community engagement, career fairs, demonstrations, and program expansion efforts.
Required Experience
Candidates should possess:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Psychology, Human Services, Rehabilitation, Social Work, or a related field.
- Experience working with adolescents and/or adults with disabilities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Basic computer proficiency and willingness to learn new technology.
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to travel throughout Monmouth, Ocean, Middlesex, and/or Mercer Counties.
- Experience in vocational rehabilitation, special education, workforce development, Pre-ETS, or VR technology is preferred but not required. Comprehensive training will be provided.

Pay: $35,000.00 – $38,000.00 per year
