Hi, Linkedin Community! We are a national nonprofit organization called Catalyst, an entirely student-led STEM publication, and we are hoping to open a chapter at your university. We’re looking for a STEM student with an interest in the remarkable breadth of career paths available to graduating STEM majors and the future of STEM as a whole! This would allow you to be an immediate founder of your unique chapter with a pre-established website (catalystnewsletter.org). We also have a full instructional guide to create a Catalyst at your school, along with all necessary tracking sheets, recruitment forms, member waivers, and other necessary materials. We would love it if you would be willing to recruit a group of leaders to found it with you (our original chapter was built by six friends into an organization of 250+ members). Role Description

This is a full-time remote role for a Campus Founder at Catalyst Newsletter. As a Campus Founder, you will be responsible for founding a Catalyst chapter on your campus. Through this, you will spearhead initiatives to grow Catalyst's on-campus presence, building a team of like-minded collaborators, and leading the promotion of Catalyst's publications and events. You will also identify and develop partnerships with campus organizations, recruit contributors, oversee the editorial process, and ensure content aligns with Catalyst's mission of empowering student voices in STEM journalism.

Qualifications

  • Currently attending a 4 year university
  • Leadership skills including team building, collaboration, and initiative to drive on-campus engagement
  • Strong writing, editing, and content creation abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for outreach and partnerships
  • Organizational and time-management skills for coordinating multiple projects
  • Passion for STEM and fostering student-led innovation
  • Experience in journalism, publication production, or STEM-related fields is a plus
  • Familiarity with digital marketing and social media campaigns is highly desirable
  • Pursuing or holding a degree in STEM, Communications, Journalism, or a related field
