Luke Society Business Manager
The Luke Society provides resources and support for International Christian health visionaries who care for the needs of their own people. We empower nationals to use their gifts in medicine as a tool to share the love of Jesus Christ and His redeeming grace.
The Business Manager plays a key role in the financial oversight of the organization, supervising daily transactions and closely working with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to ensure compliance. In addition, this person oversees office management and other daily administrative work. The individual should have a strong understanding of the Luke Society and a deep commitment to the work we do.
Qualifications
Strong management and leadership skills
Proven experience in strategic planning and business development
Proficiency in general financial oversight
Familiarity with QuickBooks for financial management
Responsibilities
Accounting
-allocate expenses for functional expense reports
-clean project code report as necessary
-prepare audit workpapers
-check bank balances
-prepare payroll taxes
-prepare quarterly payroll taxes and returns
-prepare 1099s and W-2s
-work with Executive Director and Board on ECFA compliance
-prepare payroll
-initiate payroll transactions on ISB
Finance
-prepare/lead finance committee meetings/agenda
-prepare for financial presentations for BOD meetings
-prepare budget
-pay bills
-reconcile bank statements
-record monthly transactions
-pay annuity contracts
-foreign ministry transfers
Office
-renew insurance contracts on an annual basis
-oversee contracts for office machines
-notarize documents when necessary
Bookkeeping
-opening the mail
-deposit checks (when administrative assistant is away)
-verify donations and enter into QuickBooks
-print receipts
-run reports from QuickBooks and Bloomerang
-reconcile GiveButter transactions to general ledger
-count cash monthly with business manager or administrative assistant
Communications
-answering the phone
-sign receipts as time permits
-help stuff GAP and send out monthly
-help stuff day of prayer and fasting two times a year
-check and respond to emails
Schedules
-organize strategy meeting schedule
-plan yearly devotional schedule
Ministry
-read ministry reports to stay familiar and up to date (as time permits)
Organizing Events
-help with conferences and board meetings
Devotions
-participate with staff in morning devotions
Travel
-some domestic, limited international
Helping where needed
-office cleaning and other tasks
Representing the organization
-understanding who we are and sharing it with others
-talking at churches or other events as needed
Job is on site in Sioux Falls
Part-time and full-time options available
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $60,000.00 – $70,000.00 per year
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
