Position Summary
The Business Development & Studio Operations Manager is responsible for expanding Midpen Media Center’s production services by developing new business opportunities, cultivating partnerships, increasing studio utilization, and strengthening client relationships. The position also oversees day-to-day studio operations to ensure productions are efficiently scheduled, appropriately staffed, and successfully delivered.
This role combines business growth with operational excellence, helping advance Midpen Media Center’s mission while increasing earned revenue and delivering exceptional service to community producers, nonprofit organizations, government agencies, educational institutions, and commercial clients.
Primary Responsibilities1. Business Development & Revenue Growth (40%)
- Develop and implement strategies to increase earned production revenue.
- Identify new production opportunities with businesses, nonprofits, schools, municipalities, and community organizations.
- Build long-term relationships with existing and prospective clients.
- Prepare proposals, production estimates, and scopes of work.
- Represent Midpen Media Center at networking events, community meetings, and industry functions.
- Maintain a pipeline of prospective clients and partnership opportunities.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director on strategic growth initiatives.
2. Studio Operations & Production Management (30%)
- Coordinate production schedules for Access and Professional productions.
- Supervise studio bookings and production calendars.
- Recommend workflow improvements that increase efficiency and client satisfaction.
- Ensure productions are delivered on schedule and meet organizational quality standards.
3. Client Services & Production Coordination (15%)
- Serve as the primary contact for production clients throughout the production process.
- Coordinate production timelines and communicate project milestones.
- Resolve scheduling conflicts and production challenges.
- Ensure a consistently high level of customer service.
- Maintain ongoing communication with producers, clients, and internal staff.
4. Staff & Resource Coordination (10%)
- Coordinate staff, contractors, and technical personnel assigned to productions.
- Ensure adequate staffing for studio and field productions.
- Assist with onboarding and coordinating freelance production personnel.
- Communicate production expectations, schedules, and assignments clearly.
5. Administrative & Strategic Support (5%)
- Maintain production documentation and operational records.
- Prepare reports regarding studio utilization, production activity, and business development.
- Support budgeting and production planning.
- Assist with organizational planning and continuous process improvement.
Qualifications
- Experience in media production, broadcast operations, creative services, communications, or a related field.
- Experience in business development, client relations, sales, partnerships, or account management preferred.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience coordinating production schedules and operational workflows.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and production scheduling software.

Compensation: $32.00–$42.00 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience. Candidates with demonstrated experience in business development, partnership cultivation, and media operations are encouraged to apply.
Pay: $35.00 – $45.00 per hour
