Job Summary
The Business Development & Fundraising Manager will be responsible for driving the foundation’s growth by securing funding, developing strategic partnerships, and identifying new business opportunities. This role requires expertise in grant writing, fundraising, and relationship management to ensure financial sustainability and expand the foundation’s impact in the crafts training sector.
Main Responsibilities (including but not limited to)
Fundraising & Grants Acquisition:
Research and identify grant opportunities from local, regional, and international donors.
Develop compelling grant proposals, concept notes, and funding applications.
Maintain a grant calendar to track deadlines and ensure timely submissions.
Manage donor relationships and provide reports on project impact and fund utilization.
Strategic Partnerships & Business Growth:
Identify and develop partnerships with corporations, NGOs, government agencies, and international organizations.
Explore new funding models such as corporate sponsorships, social enterprises, and donor collaborations.
Lead networking efforts to position the foundation as a key player in the crafts training sector.
Negotiate agreements and MOUs with funding partners and stakeholders.
Revenue Diversification & Sustainability:
Develop business strategies to generate revenue through training programs, product sales, or consulting services.
Identify opportunities for social enterprise initiatives that align with the foundation’s mission.
Work closely with the leadership team to create sustainable financial models for long-term impact.
Marketing & Outreach:
Support branding and communication efforts to attract donors, partners, and stakeholders.
Organize fundraising events, donor engagement activities, and awareness campaigns.
Represent the foundation at industry events, conferences, and donor meetings.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Nonprofit Management, International Development, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in business development, fundraising, or grant writing.
Proven track record of securing grants, fundraising, and building strategic partnerships.
Strong writing and presentation skills for proposals and donor communications.
Experience in the crafts, vocational training, or social impact sector is an advantage.
Strong negotiation, networking, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work independently.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM tools, and fundraising software is preferred.
