What Youll Do
Support children with a variety of developmental disabilities to fully participate in the camp activities
Being mindful to the unique and individual needs of each camper
Utilizes positive behavior support strategies
Ensures the safety and well-being of all campers in the group and camp-wide
Assists with the planning and implementation of activities in accordance with the camp schedule
Maintains positive relationships with campers, parents and staff
Organizes and maintains camp equipment, supplies and property
Actively participates in all aspects of the day camp schedule as assigned
Maintains camp records including, but not limited to: accident & incident reports, sign in/out sheets, attendance documents
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
What You’ll Need
Must be at least 18 years of age and/or have prior experience in working with children, and children with developmental disabilities (Paid, volunteer, or internship)
Attend all required pre-camp and camp season trainings and meetings as scheduled and/or successful completion of the YMCA CIT program and/or completion of child development classes offered in school
Ability to effectively use technology for programmatic needs

The employee may frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus. Will be exposed to illness-causing bacteria and viruses.
