GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

This is a professional, administrative position under the guidance and supervision of the Early Childhood and Family Services Director. This person is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Brightmoor Childcare Quality Initiative. The overall goal is to help childcare providers in Brightmoor improve the quality of early care and education, while also nurturing MiSide’s overall childcare industry support services.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Brightmoor Childcare Quality Initiative (BCQI) Management:

Plans, organizes, and directs the service delivery of the Brightmoor Childcare Quality Initiative.
Participates in the selection of staff.
Responsible for supervision, training, evaluation, and discipline of all BCQI staff.
Managing relationships with vendors and suppliers, monitoring contracts, and optimizing partnerships.
Ensures monthly monitoring and that staff meet performance criteria.
Ensuring that employees have the necessary tools and resources to perform their roles efficiently and safely.
Implementing and managing a 80/20 hybrid work model, balancing on-site and remote work arrangements, with increased in-office time as necessary

Program Development and Community Engagement:

Develops and maintains contacts with the Fisher Foundation and collaborative partners to ensure program implementation.
Oversees all data collection and prepares reports to ensure compliance with all funding requirements.
Participates in grant writing and program development.
Engages local childcare providers in a quality improvement process for BCQI 2.0.
Collaborates within the community to develop partnerships to maintain enrollment.
Promotes underserved early care and education in the community through networking, events, etc.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support agency efforts to expand its childcare support services, including exploring new business models, income streams, and client bases. As needed participate in business development and program development activities and planning.
Undertakes other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ATTITUDE:

Strong team building, leadership, and management skills.
Community relations and marketing expertise.
Strong advocacy skills, including interaction with funders and local officials.
Familiarity with the local community.
Knowledge of theory and practices related to early childhood development and related education and care systems.
Training and coaching abilities. (MiRegistry approved trainer, recommended)
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to maintain a professional posture in attendance, attitude, conduct, and conflict resolution.
Ability to tolerate ambiguity, crises, and changing priorities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education, Licensure, and/or Certification:

Master’s degree preferred in Early Childhood, Psychology, Social Work, or related field.
Knowledge of childcare licensing State of Michigan

DESIRED EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of 6-8 years of post-degree experience is acceptable.
Experience and knowledge of Early Childhood theory and practice.
Leadership skills, initiative, and the ability to work in the community and collaboratively across systems are required.

SALARY:

$60,000.00 – $90,000.00 (Commensurate with experience)
