Position Overview
The Breaktime Club Coordinator manages and facilitates specialized, supervised adult day programs for older adults. You will create a safe, enriching environment that promotes socialization while providing essential respite for family caregivers. This role involves planning Breaktime Club activities, managing volunteer support, and serving as the primary point of contact for families.
Key Responsibilities
- Program Facilitation: Lead Breaktime Club activities, ensuring a welcoming and secure environment.
- Activity Planning: Design and implement engaging recreational programs, including art projects, gentle chair exercises, and interactive games.
- Meal Coordination: Oversee the setup, serving, and supervision of community lunches for participants.
- Participant Support: Provide direct assistance, gentle supervision, and companionship to older adult attendees.
- Volunteer Leadership: Recruit, train, and schedule caring volunteers to maintain optimal support ratios.
- Caregiver Liaison: Conduct intake assessments, answer programmatic questions, and provide resources to family caregivers.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 2 years working with older adults, dementia care, or social services.
- Skills: Excellent communication, group facilitation, and behavior management skills.
- Attributes: High level of empathy, patience, and enthusiasm for elder care.
- Requirements: Ability to pass a background check and CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
