Crossworld, a non-profit mission agency based in Kansas City, Mo., is a formative community of disciple-makers from all professions bringing God’s love to life in the world’s least-reached marketplaces. We are accepting resumes for a full-time Brand Copywriter.

Function

The Brand Copywriter’s ministry advances Crossworld’s disciple-making vision by amplifying stories of kingdom impact. This role curates stories of impact, interviews staff and field partners, writes and edits copy across print and digital platforms, and optimizes content for SEO/AEO to engage recruitment, church, and donor audiences at every stage of the marketing funnel. This role is the voice of the organization.

Desired Attributes

  • Mature understanding of Scripture with the ability to articulate the gospel and Crossworld’s disciple-making vision with clarity and enthusiasm
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the versatility to write for both internal and external audiences
  • Skilled journalistic style interviewer, comfortable drawing out authentic stories from international staff, church partners, donors, and other stakeholders
  • Working knowledge of editorial style guides (AP, Chicago, or Christian Writer’s Manual of Style)
  • Familiarity with SEO/AEO best practices and application
  • Comfortable using digital collaboration tools (e.g., Teams, Outlook, Airtable, Vimeo, or similar)
  • Able to manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining a consistent brand voice across platforms
  • A team player, with high emotional intelligence and strong relational skills, as well as experience collaborating across departments
  • Sound judgment handling sensitive or confidential information
  • Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid team environment.
  • Able to work on-site in Kansas City during standard weekday hours (some remote flexibility possible).

The applicant must profess faith in Jesus Christ, be supportive of Crossworld’s Statement of Faith, be an active member of an evangelical Christian church; be willing to participate in events, including Christian services, held or sponsored by Crossworld; be willing to share their personal testimony; refrain from committing any act which detracts from the Christian testimony and ministry of Crossworld; and fulfill other ministry functions and requirements that may be requested by Crossworld. A passion to see God’s glory proclaimed among all peoples, as well as an understanding and excitement for Crossworld’s vision in the Great Commission will characterize the person we hire. It is important that the applicant understands their role in helping achieve Crossworld’s mission, therefore viewing their job assignment as a ministry.

Core Responsibilities

  • Conduct story-driven interviews and source authentic impact stories from field staff, donors, church partners, and ambassadors for internal and external distribution, following Crossworld’s security guidelines
  • Own and maintain Crossworld’s brand voice style guide, ensuring cohesive tone, terminology, and messaging across all communications
  • Collaborate with the Director of Communications to guide content strategy, maintain the editorial calendar, and align written content with campaign, fundraising, and awareness objectives
  • Serve as lead writer and editor for internal communications (newsletters, brochures, promotional materials) and external marketing (campaigns, social media, blogs, lead generators, and video scripts)
  • Write copy for print, design, digital, and video projects in coordination with Graphic Design and Videography, following established brief-and-review cycles
  • Research keywords and apply SEO/AEO best practices to increase visibility of website and blog content
  • Partner with Digital Marketing Specialist to track content performance metrics and use data to inform future content decisions
  • Support crisis communications as part of the Crisis Management Team, drafting and executing public-facing messaging under the direction of the Director of Communications
  • Read newsletters from Crossworld missionaries
  • Assist with training events, scheduling, filing, and other tasks as requested.
  • Attend prayer times, staff meetings, and team meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.
