The Foundation is focused on celebrating athletic excellence and supporting sports-related community initiatives. By leveraging sports media, marketing, and events, the organization aims to positively impact athletes and fans at local and broader levels. Volunteers and leaders collaborate to expand outreach, strengthen partnerships, and increase the Foundation’s visibility and impact in the sports community.

Role Description This is a volunteer, remote role for a member of the Board of Directors at Premier Players Sports Foundation. Board members provide strategic guidance, participate in setting organizational goals, and help ensure the Foundation’s mission, vision, and values are upheld. Day-to-day activities may include attending virtual board and committee meetings, reviewing organizational reports and proposals, and contributing to policy, governance, and program discussions. Board members may also support networking, fundraising outreach, and partnership development with sponsors, community organizations, and stakeholders in the sports industry. In addition, the role includes acting as an ambassador for the Foundation, promoting its programs and initiatives, and offering mentorship and oversight to help strengthen operational and financial sustainability.

Qualifications

  • Experience in nonprofit governance with the ability to provide strategic direction and oversight.
  • Background or strong interest in sports, sports marketing, community engagement, or related fields.
  • Knowledge of fundraising including comfort with outreach and relationship-building.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote, virtual environment.
  • Understanding of basic financial oversight, budgeting, or organizational risk management is beneficial.
  • Commitment to ethical standards to advancing the Foundation’s mission.
  • Prior experience serving on committees or community boards is preferred but not required.
  • 1 hour per month via virtual meetings.
