Position Type:Full-time / 40 hours per week
Expected Hours per Week:Mon-Fri; 8:00a-4:30p with the ability to flex hours to accommodate business needs.

Remote Eligibility:This position is expected to work onsite but may be allowed towork from homeintermittently in some cases.

Summary:Join us in a role dedicated to combatting food insecurity by helping clients access SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) benefits. Whether assisting over the phone or in person, you’ll also collaborate with volunteers to make SNAP applications more accessible. Beyond the paperwork, we aim to raise awareness about SNAP’s advantages and break down community barriers and stigmas. In order to properly serve our community, bilingual skills in English and Spanish are required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Outreach Activities via Phone (50%)
Maintain an updated calendar to schedule phone assistance sessions with clients.
Promptly return calls from clients who have expressed interest in public benefits through an online tool.
Assist clients with benefit applications, utilizing online client information recordings.
Follow up with clients, sometimes making repeated contact to collect necessary information for applications.
Collaborate with referral agencies to facilitate clients’ access to SNAP and other public benefits.
ContinuousEducationandCommunication(30%)
Develop a deep understanding of the SNAP program, offering screening, counseling, and guidance to clients regarding documentation and eligibility requirements.
Research and identify organizations serving SNAP-eligible clients, establishing partnerships and resources to enhance SNAP awareness and application rates.
Engage directly with the Larimer County Department of Human Services to achieve program goals aimed at boosting SNAP participation.
Stay updated on SNAP program changes, policies, and procedures, actively seeking ongoing training to maintain current knowledge of program requirements.
Collaborative Outreach Activities (20%)
Conduct outreach to community-based organizations, emergency food programs, and other partners to disseminate information on SNAP rules and regulations.
Participate in community outreach events, fairs, and forums as needed; may deliver training or educational presentations at these events to promote SNAP.
