Job Summary
This position is responsible for the provision of behavioral healthcare for clients of all ages. The position collaborates with primary healthcare providers, specialists, psychiatrists, chemical dependency programs and providers, other healthcare professionals, and community resources. This position will provide screenings, assessments, treatments, individual and group therapy. The IOP Group Therapist is committed to ensuring a positive patient experience and will work with the patient to establish measurable outcomes reflecting the patient’s desired goals. Position follows patient
centered medical home (PCMH) guidelines and principles.
Duties And Responsibilities
Facilitate group therapy sessions for teens ages 12-17 enrolled in the IOP Program.
Create and maintain a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental environment for group participants.
Develop and implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions tailored to the needs of the group using the Seeking Safety Curriculum.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of clinicians to ensure coordinated care.
Document and maintain accurate records of group sessions, including progress notes and treatment plans.
Assess and address participants’ individual needs within the context of group therapy.
Provide crisis intervention when necessary, ensuring safety and wellbeing of participants.
Provide support and direction to the IOP Practicum intern.
Assist with patient recruitment and retention efforts, including outreach to prospective patients and their families.
Provide feedback to parents or caregivers regarding their child’s progress in the program.
Provides individual, marital, couples, group, and crisis intervention counseling to patients for five hours per week, between the hours of 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM, with specific days to be determined.
Required Skills/Abilities
Possess a current Master’s level license as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors.
Possess a current Master’s level license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) by the Texas State Board of Social Work Examiners.
Must possess a current and independent Medicaid/Medicare eligible license.
