GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Site Director has the responsibility of ensuring effective and efficient operation of one or two childcare sites. The Site Director is responsible for managing and facilitating Before & Afterschool Enrichment and/or Early Learning programs at a designated YMCA program sites. This responsibility includes creating and implementing lesson plans, maintaining site records, and additional program responsibilities to ensure state licensure compliance and overall effective program management. This position is expected to be actively in childcare program up to 50% of the time. This position reports to: YMCA Regional Childcare Director
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Coordinate and implement educational curriculum by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices, Creative Curriculum Standards, and Early Learning Standards.
· Lead by example; encourage teaching team success through modeling and coaching.
· Plan individual and group age-appropriate activities to actively engage children and encourage social, cognitive and emotional growth.
· Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences.
· Ensure all center policies and state regulations are met.
· Ensure a healthy classroom environment – including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and safety and security of children.
· Supervise teacher assistants to ensure they are following planned activities, hygiene and safety standards.
· Maintain accurate records, forms and files.
· Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.

REQUIREMENTS
- Must clear BCI & FBI background check
- Must clear JFS 01175 Request for a Background Check for Child Care (Statewide Automated Child Welfare Information System (SACWIS)
- Must successfully complete JFS 02196 Employee Medical Statement for Child Care.
- Infant/child CPR and First Aid Certifications.
- Child Abuse Prevention and Communicable Disease Certifications.
- Attend at least 30 hours a specialized training every two years based on hire date.
EDUCATION
- Minimum- CDA, AA appropriate to the age group or a CPL 3 or enrolled in a current CDA (Child Development Associate) degree program
- Preferred- Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Development or approved related fields such as Early Childhood Education, Family and Consumer Sciences (with an early childhood emphasis, Elementary Education (in some cases), Child and Family Studies, Human Development
Additional Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required
· Minimum of 2 years of professional child care experience.
· Knowledgeable of Ohio Licensing Rules and Step Up To Quality
· Strong oral and written communication skills and strong computer skills.
· High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
· Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Physical Requirements
· Requirements include the ability to take frequent walks, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools or controls, talk to and hear voices at many levels. May also be required to kneel, bend, squat or crawl.
· A specific vision ability will be required including the ability to see up close and up to a certain distance, to see colors, have peripheral vision and depth perception.
· Regularly stand, sit, walk, run, bend, squat, climb, crawl, balance and stoop.
· Ability to regularly lift and/or more 10lbs frequently, frequently lift and/or move up to 20lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
· Be frequently exposed to outdoor elements from wet and or humid weather (follow licensing regulations).
Pay: $14.00 – $15.00 per hour
