Position: ASSOCIATE VICAR
Overview
Something wonderful is happening at St Augustine’s Ipswich. Over the last four years we have seen remarkable, sustained growth: more families, more young people, more people encountering Jesus for the first time. Our Sundays are fuller, our midweek ministries are busier, and our community hub is increasingly part of the life of our town.
As we approach our Centenary year, we are praying that we would reach more people with the gospel of Jesus than ever before, through invitation and participation, deeper encounter and discipleship, and ministries of compassion.
Role
We are looking for an outstanding person to join us as our next Associate Vicar.
Responsibilities
- Carry a share of the church’s leadership, preaching and pastoral duties with the Vicar.
- Focus on multiplying mission and growing the church.
- Preach and teach the Bible; engage in evangelism and mission, with emphasis on reaching younger adults and families with children.
- Pray and lead in prayerful discernment and intercession.
Qualifications
- Strong gifts as a Bible teacher and evangelist.
- Experience in reaching younger adults and families with children is desirable.
- Proven track record of prayerful ministry and pastoral leadership.
