Associate Regional Director- Chicagoland Western Suburbs Jobs in South Naperville Area, USA at Young Life
We are hiring an Associate Regional Director (ARD) to provide leadership and supervision across the West suburbs of Chicago. This role plays a key part in our long‑term strategy to reach more adolescents for Christ in volume and diversity by ensuring strong, consistent leadership and coaching.
The ARD will be a spiritually mature leader with demonstrated experience supervising ministry staff, developing leaders, and leading teams with clarity, care, and accountability. They will also show a successful history working with diverse staff or show a strong passion for learning how.
The right candidate is excited and drawn to the art of supervision; walking alongside people, coaching them, having necessary conversations, and empowering them to use their unique gifts to make ministry thrive.
This role involves going to Young Life ministries in their geography to build relationships, coach and develop staff, support local ministry efforts, and model healthy, sustainable ministry practices.
The successful candidate will also have a history of being team‑oriented with the dual skill to partner with their leader and peers while inspiring their direct reports. The ability to start Young Life chapters (areas) in new communities is a plus for the right candidate.
In addition, this role will require significant fundraising for both the operating budget and, potentially, other regional initiatives. The salary range is $73,900–$100,990 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
Territory and reporting structure note:
The final supervisory region for this role is still being determined within the farther western part of the Chicagoland region. As a result, the exact territory and reporting structure may be slightly adjusted based on organizational needs and the strengths and experience of the selected candidate, in order to best serve the ministry. The right candidate will reside within the part of town where they oversee the ministry.
Summary
Represent the regional office in carrying out the regional function to ensure good Young Life ministry in that region, as well as knowing and upholding all Young Life policies and procedures.
Ministry Functions Spiritual Development
- Develop a yearly personal growth plan that fosters a vibrant spiritual life including time for solitude, retreat, reflection, prayer, and a sincere commitment to understanding God’s Word.
- Seek and maintain relationships and disciplines in the context of active participation in a church community.
- Actively participate in the spiritual life of the Young Life community.
- Lead teams and individuals in spiritual development.
- Ensure that all Young Life ministry in the region is designed and carried out with a dependence on prayer that takes place out of the overflow of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Leadership Development
- Assist the Regional Director in casting vision for reaching “every kid” within the region.
- Assist the Regional Director in developing diverse leadership and ministries.
- Work with the Regional Director to recruit, interview, hire, and place staff within the region.
- Supervise, develop, and evaluate staff, providing resources and experiences needed to implement the vision.
- Facilitate departures when necessary and as assigned.
- Assist the Regional Director in the development and implementation of regional trainings.
- Conduct assignments or events as assigned by the Regional Director, including leadership weekends, recruiting days, staff development, leader training, and more.
Resource Development
- Help areas develop committees. Communicate regularly with committee and Relationship Centered Engagement (RCE) chairs within the region.
- Help develop and lead the region’s fundraising strategy, ensuring excellence in communication to donors.
- Raise the necessary funds to carry out the regional ministry vision with the Regional Director.
- Ensure a Relationship Centered Engagement (RCE) plan, including vision statement, strategy, and financial master plan, is implemented and reviewed for each area under your direct supervision.
- Expected to raise a portion of the personal budget as agreed upon with the RD.
