THE POSITION
As the Associate Director of Spiritual Care at Dow Rummel Village (DRV), this position provides support to and works with the Director of Spiritual Care (Director) to implement the Spiritual Care Program, ensuring that the well-being of residents, families, and employees are met through physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual support during times of transition, stress, grief, and loss. This position is integral in supporting the Director to foster a safe and supportive environment where individuals of diverse faiths and cultural backgrounds are invited to participate in the Spiritual Care Program, and DRV in its mission and vision.
HOURS: This position has a rotating schedule with the Director of Spiritual Care to cover Sunday worship services and general programing during the week. Primarily this position will work their between the hours of 8am to 6pm, 32 hours/week, Sunday-Friday (varied) with rotating days off.
REQUIREMENTS:
Ordained minister of the Christian Faith is preferred.
Possess a relevant degree or certification in divinity, theology, or a related field.
Demonstrated experience in pastoral care, chaplaincy or spiritual counseling within a senior living, healthcare setting or like experience is preferred.
THE RESPONSIBILITIES
Worship Services: Conduct weekly worship services as scheduled and in partnership with the Director, providing a platform for spiritual expression.
Sacraments: providing support to the Director and working with community clergy to offer sacraments in alignment with residents’ spiritual needs.
Visiting & Prayer: Respond to requests for visiting and prayer from residents, employees, and families.
Events/Programs: In conjunction with the Director, provide and support spiritual events offered and requested at DRV and work to establish Spiritual Care programing.
Education/Support/Resource: Provide resources and support to the DRV community as directed by the Director.
Liaison: supporting the Director in building and maintaining relationships with other community clergy, churches, and the greater area spiritual network to enhance spiritual connectivity.,
Meetings: attend meetings as assigned by the Director.
Memorials/Funeral Support: Assist the Director and DRV community members in planning and providing support for memorial and funeral services, including bedside memorials. Attending off-site funerals/visitations as assigned.
Bereavement Support: supporting the Director in following the DRV bereavement program.
Community Representation: In support and conjunction with the Director, representing DRV to the broader community, fostering positive relationships.
Resident/Family/Employee Support: Provide support for the programs of the Spiritual Care department offered and work with the Director to continue to evaluate these programs, ensuring that they foster a holistic well-being approach to support our residents, families, and employees.
Support the Director: provide support in programing, events, and overall Spiritual Care needs as directed to support the Director.
