TheAssociate Director of Development, Southeast and Mid-Atlantic (ADOD)is responsible for engaging current and cultivating prospective donors in the case for support of Georgetown University and in the pursuit of Georgetown’s campaign Called to Be. Reporting to the Senior Director of Regional Development for the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast Regions, the ADOD is responsible for qualifying, cultivating, and actively managing a portfolio of approximately 100-150 major gift and planned giving prospects and is expected to travel in the DMV region as needed each month and on a quarterly basis outside of the DMV region, including to Baltimore County and North Carolina, in order to meaningfully engage and cultivate a community of support.
Working with annual metrics, the ADOD will be expected to make approximately 120 visits annually with current and prospective donors who are undergraduate alumni, current and former parents, and friends. The role will have an annual goal of raising $500,000 or more as the portfolio matures and comfortably asking for five- and six-figure gifts.
Play a critical role in two key areas of fundraising work: building a pipeline of philanthropic support for Georgetown University in the regions as defined and ensuring a thoughtful and strategic regional market management approach, specifically in key secondary and tertiary markets in the DMV region, with a particular focus on Northern Virginia, as well as Baltimore County, and in North Carolina.
Work closely with Development colleagues and partners across campus on salon event planning and execution, principal visits, and deployments.
Work closely with the Senior Director onstrategic planningfor the DC metro area, including specific initiatives to bring content to the region, acting as acollaborativethought partner willing to approach their work with a team-first mentality.
Act as a generalist representing all areas of Georgetown University’s campuses and the Called To Be campaign, being nimble and donor-centric, as well as educated in the content across the many academic units, programs, and initiatives.
Routinely interact with many points of interest as well as potential for philanthropic partnerships.
Ensure strategic engagement and cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of planned giving prospects in the region(s), partnering closely with the Office of Planned Giving here inAdvancement.
