Associate Board Member (volunteer) Jobs in Remote at Dance Is Life
Job Description – Associate Board Member
Our Mission
Our mission is to connect and inspire individuals and communities through music and movement. We cultivate interpersonal connection and creative expression by revitalizing and reclaiming cultural and historic spaces for the dance community, hosting free public events across New York each year. These gatherings bring together people from diverse cultural, artistic, musical, and dance backgrounds. Our events create spaces that honor queer identities and disabled communities. Love and inclusivity are part of our core values and we desire all to feel seen, valued, and safe.
Empathy drives our work. We are fueled by the exchange of culture, education, and artistic expression, and we believe deeply in the power of social dance and music to transform public spaces into places of belonging.
Position Overview:
*This is a volunteer position*
Dance Is Life is seeking passionate, well-connected professionals from across the United States to serve on its inaugural Associate Board.
The Associate Board is a national network of emerging leaders who believe in the power of culture, dance, and storytelling to strengthen communities. Members serve as ambassadors, fundraisers, connectors, and strategic thought partners while helping expand Dance Is Life’s national reach.
Unlike a governing board, the Associate Board has no fiduciary or governance responsibilities. Instead, members work alongside the CEO and Chief Development Officer to increase philanthropic support, cultivate relationships, raise awareness, and open doors to new opportunities.
The Ideal candidate is an individual who is a collaborator more than a volunteer. The strongest candidates are professionals who enjoy bringing people together, cultivating relationships, opening doors, and helping organizations grow. Whether through philanthropy, corporate partnerships, sponsorships, or strategic introductions, Associate Board members play a vital role in ensuring Dance Is Life has the resources to expand its mission and deepen its impact across the country.
