Our mission is to empower our community with the confidence and creativity needed to buy, cook, and eat good food every day. We offer foodeducationprograms to the community through two different channels. At our 18th Street Kitchen in San Francisco, paid classes reach curious home cooks with the means to pay for instruction.
Through our free Community Programs, we offer grocery donations paired with free cooking and nutrition classes to families on a limited budget throughout the Bay Area. Our vision is to create equity and belonging through the transformative and healing power of home cooking.
The Assistant Program Manager is ahands-onandsolution-orientedperson who coordinates nutrition and cooking classes, manages volunteers, and works closely withdiversecommunities of kids, teens, adults, and community partners.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following tasks:
Coordinate 3-4 Food As Medicine classes per week
Facilitate nutritioneducationlessons and coordinate nutrition and cooking groups
Coordinate food and supply distribution logistics
Manage communications with Food as Medicine team, which includes health care providers, volunteers, peer health educators, and 18 Reasons staff
Collect and prepare materials for classes, including food, cooking equipment, and course paperwork
Support the growth of the program through research and the creation of student and curriculum resources (including translation and interpretation of resources and lessons)
Program Documentation
Administer surveys and other forms of data collection and complete data entry
Enter data and maintain records of program participation in CRM
Track key metrics to support evaluation of program
Program Outreach and Participant Intake
Supportcommunity engagementwith the program through flyering, tabling, participation in community meetings, and other networking and outreach events
Directcommunicationwith program participants to support program intake, including scheduling participants into preferred classes and encouraging participant retention
Directcommunicationandcollaborationwith key supporters, such as case managers and social workers to support recruitment
Submit referrals and referral extension requests on behalf of participants
Volunteer & PHE Recruitment, Training, & Management
Train and manage interns, volunteers, and peer health educators
Identify and participate in opportunities to recruit volunteers and peer health educators
Provide feedback and support to volunteers and PHEs to maintain the quality of the program
