Description

Organization Overview: The Goddard Riverside Community Center (Goddard Riverside) and the Stanley M. Isaacs Neighborhood Center (Isaacs Center) are well-established Manhattan community-based agencies supporting services to approximately 30,000 New Yorkers. We are leading human services organizations in NYC, serving children, youth, families, homeless individuals, and older adults, working towards a fair and just society where everyone can improve their lives.

Program Description: Goddard Riverside invests in people and strengthens communities, serving over 20,000 individuals citywide through various programs. We operate supportive housing residences, including four permanent supportive housing facilities and one transitional residence for adults experiencing homelessness.

Position Summary: The Assistant Program Director supports and supervises case managers, Housing Specialists, and Harm Reduction Specialists, assisting the Program Director to ensure individuals achieve stable housing through a harm reduction and housing first approach.

Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday, 9am-5pm

Salary Range: $70,699.20 – $75,699.20

Qualifications: Candidates must meet the required qualifications. Salary will be based on experience and additional qualifications.

Roles, Responsibilities, and Essential

Duties

Supervise and conduct individual supervisions for staff team members.

Participate actively in management and team meetings.

Ensure ongoing staff training and development.

Respond to crisis situations and debrief with staff and clients.

Assist with audits and ensure compliance with regulations.

Standardize program policies using harm reduction and housing first models.

Ensure thorough incident reporting and follow-up.

Promote quality service provision using evidence-based practices.

Implement and oversee data collection, tracking, and reporting.

Participate in on-call rotation.

Work with funders and community partners to meet deliverables and standards.

Oversee daily operations in the absence of the Program Director.

Collaborate with local agencies and community organizations.

Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications/Educational Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a social service-related field required; LMSW preferred.

Supervisory experience required.

Experience with shelter or Safe Haven settings strongly preferred.

Experience with individuals with substance use or mental health issues preferred.

Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Understanding of harm reduction and housing first models required.

Office within a Safe Haven housing building.
