Reporting to the Senior Director for Philanthropy and Acquisition, the Assistant Director for Qualification and Pipeline Strategy plays a key role in growing and advancing UW Medicine Advancement’s major gift pipeline. This position leads prospect qualification and discovery strategy across patient and non-patient audiences, translating data into action and connecting promising donors with meaningful opportunities to support patient care, research and educatio
n.
Working closely with frontline fundraisers, Annual Philanthropy and Data and Reporting colleagues, this role strengthens portfolio development and ensures qualified prospects are positioned for timely, high-impact engageme
nt.
What You Wil
l DoProspect Qualification & Discovery (
- 50%)Conduct qualification and discovery work to identify and advance major gift-level prospects within UW Medicine Advancement’s donor pipel
- ine.Collaborate closely with frontline fundraising (major gift officers who build relationships with donors) colleagues to assess donor interest, philanthropic capacity and readiness for major gift engagem
- ent.Review and qualify prospects from the TAP (Target. Activate. Progress.) discovery report, with the goal of moving appropriate individuals into frontline major gift portfol
- ios.Respond to requests from frontline fundraising colleagues to assist with qualification of prospects from targeted audiences such as event participants, campaign supporters, or new donor segme
- nts.Support qualification efforts related to patient donor acquisit
- ion.Identify and cultivate donor prospects capable of supporting Annual Philanthropy campaigns through challenge gifts when appropri
- ate.Maintain a consistent qualification workflow, typically reviewing and qualifying or disqualifying approximately 40–60 prospects per mo
nth.
Pipeline Planning & Operations

- asis.Manage internal qualification tracking and program performance monitoring for both patient and non-patient prosp
- ects.Maintain and analyze qualification data across multiple systems, including UW Medicine Advancement’s donor CRM (Tandem) and patient prospect tracking t
- ools.Develop and maintain internal tools for tracking and communicating qualification outcomes and program perform
- ance.In collaboration with our Data and Reporting team, distribute regular prospect reports for patient qualification, including the A+ patient prospect report, which uses propensity modeling to identify the most likely grateful patient prosp
- ects.Collaborate with Donor Relations colleagues to publish the weekly stewardship report for frontline fundraising collea
- gues.Partner with the Director for Annual Philanthropy to support faculty onboarding and consultation related to pipeline develop
- ment.Maintain and organize qualification resources used by the UW Medicine Advancement team, ensuring staff have access to consistent guidance and t

Bachelor’s degree AND three (3) or more years of experience in advancement with a preference for experience cultivating, soliciting and stewarding leadersh
ip gifts.
