The Role
You will provide administrative support to the Church Buildings Officers and gain experience in the faculty jurisdiction system. Working directly with the Senior Church Buildings Officer, you will be responsible for:
• being the first point of contact for the Church Buildings team, providing comprehensive support to parishes and the team;
• validating new applications and responding to enquiries;
• processing List B and minor faculty applications; and
• contacting parishes and other stakeholders as directed by the Church Buildings Officers to progress applications.
You will join a friendly and busy Church Buildings Team, totalling 10 staff. The Church Buildings Team offers advice and helps to support the long-term sustainable future of the historic church buildings across the diocese helping individual congregations to care for them and adapt them for today’s needs.
About You
You should be comfortable working in a busy team, adapting to the challenges associated with supporting the care of the 808 church buildings in the diocese. You will be able to take the initiative whilst communicating with and supporting parishes and the Church Buildings Officers. A keen eye for detail, excellent
communication skills
and a “can do” attitude are also essential.
