Hiring up to four 20-hour a week canvassers!

Help us collect Democracy Vouchers and  for Ry Armstrong who is running for Seattle Mayor!Ry is a queer elected labor leader and climate organizer running to lower the costs of living in Seattle, and will fight for everyday families. As a Millennial in their 30s who was raised in a Seattle union family, Ry knows that Seattle is at its best when it is sustainable, labor strong, and just.

In order to achieve this vision, Seattle needs and deserves a leader who will act with honesty, transparency, and follow through to deliver on promises, which has not happened under the current administration. Ry has the professional talent, conviction, and moral compass to serve the City of Seattle, and welcomes you to be part of this pivotal moment in Seattle history.

Get paid! Canvass positions start at $25/hour. We offer paid training, materials, and potential opportunities to move into full-time positions and/or be promoted. Bonuses awarded at campaign milestones.

Location: Seattle, WA

We are hiring immediately:
All positions are contracted for 20 hours at a time with a review of work produced before renewal. At least one shift of 8 hours will be filled on a weekend (Saturday or Sunday), with other 4-hour shifts assigned with prior confirmation with A4A staff. These shifts can include staffing events as directed.

Canvasser Responsibilities ($25+/hr):

Engage with the public in a friendly and respectful manner and deliver a compelling campaign message, collecting complete survey answers from voters.

Participate in staff training to improve outreach skills.

Perform similar duties for the campaign as assigned (i.e. staffing tables at events, staffing fundraising events, basic volunteer support, etc.).

Strictly follow the campaign’s safety protocols and code of conduct.

Daily reporting of hours worked, locations worked, and campaign milestones hit (i.e. number of voter contacts, how many signatures acquired, how many vouchers acquired) required.

The ideal candidate:

Passionate about progressive politics and fostering democracy.

Strong communication skills: you should enjoy working with other people and be willing and excited to speak with everyone.

Hard worker who will stay motivated to engage as many people as possible.

Open to new challenges and interested in building their campaign skills.

Culturally competent and able to respectfully engage with teammates and the community.

Strong sense of responsibility and ethics as a “face” of the campaign.

Prior canvassing experience is not required but is highly recommended.
