Hope Center Ministries is a growing nonprofit discipleship recovery program with multiple centers across the United States. Hope Center Ministries exists to restore lives, restore families, and restore communities. We do this by helping individuals bound by drug addiction and/or alcoholism find lasting freedom and sobriety through a relationship with Jesus Christ. Our mission is lived out by seeing the lost saved, the saved freed, the freed restored, and the restored fulfilled.
Position Overview
The Apprentice position is an entry-level ministry development role designed for individuals who desire to grow in spiritual leadership, discipleship, recovery ministry, and the day-to-day operations of Hope Center Ministries.
Apprentices serve alongside experienced ministry leaders while gaining practical, hands-on experience in multiple areas of the ministry. The role is intentionally developmental and provides opportunities to grow in leadership, resident discipleship, communication, administration, community engagement, and operational responsibility.
An Apprentice should demonstrate a willingness to learn, serve, lead, receive coaching, and grow while supporting the mission and vision of Hope Center Ministries.

Ministry & Leadership Development Responsibilities
- Serve alongside ministry leadership to learn the daily responsibilities necessary to maintain a healthy, effective, and growing Hope Center.
- Participate in the overall mission and vision of Hope Center Ministries.
- Learn how effective ministry leaders develop staff, residents, volunteers, and emerging leaders.
- Develop practical leadership skills through observation, coaching, mentoring, training, and hands-on responsibility.
- Assist with resident discipleship, accountability, spiritual development, and other areas of the Hope Center program as assigned.
- Develop the ability to communicate biblical principles and provide practical avenues for residents to apply those principles.
- Learn how to identify and develop emerging leaders within the ministry.
- Participate in leadership development opportunities, including meetings, training, mentoring, coaching, and other assigned development activities.
- Gradually assume additional ministry responsibilities as competency, maturity, and leadership ability are demonstrated.
- Support ministry leadership in implementing strategic plans and accomplishing Center goals.
- Maintain compliance with all Hope Center Ministries policies, procedures, standards, and expectations.
Campus & Operational Development
- Participate in staff meetings and other leadership meetings as assigned.
- Gain exposure to the different functions necessary for successful Center operations, including resident care, admissions, vocation training, fundraising, facilities, administration, and community engagement.
- Learn how ministry leaders identify operational needs, establish priorities, solve problems, and appropriately utilize available resources.
- Assist with building and property needs, supplies, projects, events, and other operational responsibilities as assigned.
- Develop an understanding of responsible stewardship, budgeting, financial accountability, and resource management within the ministry.
- Perform additional duties and ministry assignments as directed by leadership.
Vocation Training
- Learn the purpose and operation of Hope Center Ministries’ Vocation Training Program.
- Assist in developing and maintaining healthy relationships with Vocation Training Partners.
- Learn how Vocation Training opportunities contribute to resident development, responsibility, work ethic, and successful transition.
- Assist leadership in evaluating Vocation Training environments and identifying opportunities for continued improvement.
- Promote appropriate training, accountability, communication, and safety within Vocation Training partnerships.
Fundraising & Community Engagement
- Participate in Center fundraising activities and events.
- Learn how successful fundraising events are planned, organized, communicated, and executed.
- Assist in identifying opportunities to strengthen fundraising efforts and community partnerships.
- Represent Hope Center Ministries positively and professionally within the community.
- Build relationships with churches, businesses, volunteers, supporters, and community partners.
- Participate in church speaking engagements, community events, outreach opportunities, and the distribution of ministry information as assigned.
Admissions & Resident Support
- Model healthy, Christ-centered interactions with residents, families, churches, and members of the community.
- Learn and support Hope Center Ministries’ admissions processes and standards.
- Assist with outreach efforts designed to connect individuals and families in need with Hope Center Ministries.
- Develop an understanding of appropriate resident boundaries, safety, accountability, confidentiality, and risk awareness.
- Recognize that the physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of residents is a significant responsibility and act in accordance with Hope Center Ministries policies and procedures.
- Support efforts to increase awareness of Hope Center Ministries through churches, community relationships, word of mouth, outreach, and distribution of ministry materials.
Professional Development & Personal Growth
- Devote intentional time to spiritual, mental, and physical development and well-being through personal discipline.
- Maintain an active and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Demonstrate humility, accountability, integrity, and a willingness to receive correction and coaching.
- Attend courses, workshops, conferences, leadership development opportunities, and ministry training as assigned.
- Participate in a Life Group and pursue opportunities for increased spiritual leadership as appropriate.
- Learn how ministry leaders establish measurable goals, develop strategies, create timelines, evaluate resources, and measure results.
- Participate in regular coaching, development conversations, and performance evaluations.
- Complete self-evaluations and other development assessments as required.
- Demonstrate continued growth in leadership, communication, biblical knowledge, resident interaction, decision-making, teamwork, and personal responsibility.
Developmental Nature of the Position
The Apprentice position is designed to provide broad exposure to the ministry and operations of Hope Center Ministries. Apprentices will be given opportunities to serve and develop in multiple areas based on ministry needs, individual strengths, demonstrated competencies, and opportunities for growth.
Successful completion of the apprenticeship does not guarantee placement into a specific position. The purpose of the role is to develop capable, spiritually mature, mission-aligned individuals who are prepared to take on greater responsibility within Hope Center Ministries as opportunities and organizational needs arise.
