The AMC AmeriCorps Crew Member is an exciting opportunity to contribute to trail and conservation projects throughout the White Mountain National Forest. Through this position, you’ll be part of a crew completing diverse projects focused on trail maintenance, rock work, backcountry camping, and more, while gaining valuable experience in environmental stewardship.
Member Duties : The AmeriCorps program focuses on trail work in the White Mountain National Forest, with 4-day hitch rotations that can be in front or backcountry settings. Crew members engage in a variety of projects, ranging from patrol work and level 1 critical maintenance of popular hiking trails to constructing bog bridges and rock stairs. This hands-on experience allows participants to develop valuable skills in trail maintenance, environmental stewardship, and backcountry camping. It’s an exciting opportunity to contribute to preserving and enhancing hiking trails while gaining practical field experience in a beautiful, rugged landscape.
