Job Overview:
Under thedynamicand inspiringleadershipof Head of School, Kari Ostrem, now in her second year, this is an excellent time to join the Development Office  Annual Fund Director reports to the Executive Director of Development and works closely with the Chief Development Officer to develop and implement astrategic visionfor our annual cycle of philanthropy. The Director is responsible for maintaining and growing a robust $6.5M annual fund that is crucial to Riverdale’s annual budget.
Deep volunteer management, as well as annual fund experience, will be essential to success in this role.
Fundraising Strategy and Execution
Lead a comprehensive fundraising program to meet annual fundraising goals.
Execute individual solicitations, either independently or incollaborationwith Trustees or parent volunteers.
Develop a segmentation plan, draft solicitations, and create other Annual Fund materials.
Work with the alumni team to support a Reunion giving program.
Volunteer Management and
Leadership
Recruit, develop, manage, and train a cadre of parent Annual Fund volunteers.
Collaborate with key stakeholders, including Trustees and parent volunteers, to maximize fundraising efforts.
Event Planning and
Community Engagement
Envision, design, and implement events that fostercommunity engagementwhile supporting annual giving.
Support various development team events as needed.
Limited travel opportunities for alumni events and visits.
Donor Stewardship and Relationship Management
Develop a stewardship plan to recognize and thank Annual Fund donors.
Maintain strongcommunicationwith major gifts and campaign staff to ensure a cohesive donor experience.
Partner with the Executive Director of Development on the annual Report of Gifts.
Data Management and Reporting
Create reports on the status of the Annual Fund, tracking year-over-year progress.
Partner with the Assistant Director of Development Database Management to ensure accurate gift entry, pledge reminders, and acknowledgments.
Collaboration

Maintain opencommunicationwith various departments to ensure alignment in fundraising efforts.
Support a positive andcollaborativeoffice and school culture by bringing a sense of humor and joy to work.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required
Excellentleadershipskills with proven experience building apositive work culture
Minimum of 8 years of experience in independent school development
