Animal Program Assistant Jobs in San Antonio, Texas, USA at Tri-Starr Talent
Schedule between: M-F: 10:15am-7:15pm, Sat-Sun 8:15am-5:15pm
(Schedules are 5 days a week, to include weekends and holidays, with 2 days off. Schedules rotate every 2 months)
Job Duties:
Assisting with the daily care of animals, including feeding, cleaning enclosures, and monitoring health and behavior.
Supporting animal intake and adoption processes by maintaining accurate records and ensuring proper documentation.
Providing customer service by answering inquiries, guiding visitors through the adoption process, and educating the public on animal care and safety.
Administering medications and treatments under the direction of veterinary staff.
Coordinating with staff and volunteers to organize events such as adoption drives, spay/neuter clinics, or educational programs.
Ensuring the cleanliness and organization of animal housing areas and work spaces.
Observing and reporting any signs of illness or distress to supervisors or veterinary personnel.
Assisting in training and socializing animals to prepare them for adoption.
Maintaining inventory and restocking supplies needed for animal care and shelter operations.
Supporting outreach programs to promote responsible pet ownership and
community engagement

Requirements:
High school diploma or GED equivalent (recognized by the Texas
Education
Agency or a regional accrediting agency)
Two (2) years of customer service experience
Prior Experience working with/handling animals
