Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Animal Caretaker to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to a variety of animals, ensuring their well-being and comfort. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal welfare and possess the skills necessary to handle different species with care and respect. This position requires a strong commitment to maintaining a safe and clean environment for all animals in our care.
Responsibilities
Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising.
Maintain clean and sanitary living conditions in kennels, cages, and other animal housing areas.
Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff or management.
Handle animals safely and effectively during routine care procedures when needed.
Provide excellent customer service and involving in match-making to make animal and human connections for adoption.
Support dog training initiatives by reinforcing positive behaviors during interactions as provided by the Behavior team.
Participate in heavy lifting tasks related to animal care equipment or supplies as necessary.
Assist with administrative tasks related to animal records as needed.
Qualifications
Previous experience in animal care or related fields such as veterinary or kennel work is preferred but not required.
Ability to perform heavy lifting when required (up to 50 pounds).
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with potential adopters.
A genuine love for animals and a commitment to their welfare is essential.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings (no later than 6pm) and holidays as needed.
Ability to work with a team and has team-work skills.

Pay: $14.00 – $15.00 per hour
