Must Have Skills

Must be able to engage and communicate with external policymakers and participate in policy discussions.

Must know how to present themselves to high-profile stakeholders.

Experience building or familiarity with AI technologies. Background working with AI developers or other new tech is preferred.

Experience or demonstrated interest in policy, including work in government, political campaigns, advocacy groups, or related political causes.

Innovation Policy Manager Responsibilities:

Develop, create, and execute various innovation policy experiences and events to educate and inform policy stakeholders.

Develop strategic outreach programs and policy campaigns to advocate for the economic and social value of open-source AI.

Support engagement with policymakers, trade associations, industry partners, key opinion formers, non-profit groups, and others to contribute to the public discussion on the economic and social value of innovative technologies, like open-source AI.

Work cross-functionally with Product, Legal, Communications, Corporate, and Partnership teams, as well as global policy teams, to build and drive programs and campaigns that demonstrate the value of open-source AI.

Build coalitions with other organizations to advance our company’s policy goals.

Develop and project manage innovative policy programs and campaigns, including for new AI products.

Independently manage smaller advocacy campaigns or collaborate on the management of larger campaigns, serving as a primary client lead in some cases.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree

4+ years of policy/legal/tech experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in any of the following areas: AI technologies, programs and campaigns, security, privacy, integrity, safety, content moderation, competition, sustainability, and the surrounding policy environments.

Knowledge and experience in AI and open-source innovation.

Policy stakeholder engagement experience.

Experience with policy programs and campaigns.
