Role Description The Advocate is a full-time, on-site role based in the Nashville Metropolitan Area, supporting children, families, and individuals in accessing counseling, social services, and community resources. In this role, the Advocate conducts intake assessments, identifies needs, and develops service plans in collaboration with clients and interdisciplinary team members. The Advocate coordinates referrals, maintains accurate case documentation, and monitors client progress to ensure continuity and quality of care. Daily responsibilities include meeting with clients, communicating with external partners, participating in team meetings, and contributing to program development and community outreach initiatives. The Advocate upholds AGAPE’s mission and values while maintaining professional boundaries, ethical standards, and culturally responsive practices.

Qualifications

  • Ability to provide direct client support, including advocacy, case management, and resource navigation.
  • Skills in assessment, documentation, and maintaining organized, confidential case records.
  • Strong communication abilities, including active listening, clear verbal and written communication, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Capacity to build trust with diverse populations, demonstrating cultural humility, empathy, and trauma-informed care.
  • Experience working in social services, counseling support roles, or community-based organizations is beneficial.
  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, human services, or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Familiarity with local community resources in the Nashville area and ability to coordinate services across agencies.
  • Commitment to AGAPE’s faith-informed mission and willingness to work respectfully with individuals from various faith and cultural backgrounds.
