Core services include early childhood education and care, family home visiting, and anti-sex trafficking services.
About the Committee The Advancement Committee provides strategic oversight of TFP’s development and communications work, partnering closely with staff leadership to align donor engagement and messaging with our mission and long-term goals. Committee members act as ambassadors for TFP, helping guide fundraising priorities, strengthen our public presence, and build relationships with donors and stakeholders who share our commitment to strong families and better futures for children.
We’re looking for community-minded volunteers to join our Advancement Committee, which guides our fundraising and communications strategy. The role assists with donor cultivation and stewardship activities, supports planning and promotion of events, and helps strengthen relationships with community partners and stakeholders.
Expected activities:
- Attend Advancement Committee meetings (held every other month, mostly virtual, second Wednesday 4:30–5:30 PM)
- Support fundraising efforts during our annual Fall Fundraising Campaign through network connections, peer to peer fundraising etc.
- Help amplify TFP’s presence on social media (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter/X, Instagram) and share our newsletter and media updates
We welcome volunteers who are:
- Passionate about strengthening families and communities in the Twin Cities
- Well-connected and comfortable making introductions or asks on TFP’s behalf
- Willing to commit to regular meeting attendance and an active ambassador role
- Interested in bringing their professional or personal networks to support a nonprofit’s growth
No fundraising experience required — just enthusiasm for the mission and a willingness to engage.
Time Commitment
- Attend Advancement Committee meetings (held every other month, mostly virtual, second Wednesday 4:30–5:30 PM)
- Additional time for community outreach, especially during the fall campaign season (2-3 hours total)
