Position Overview
The Administrative Secretary will provide administrative support to department leadership and faculty, helping to ensure the smooth day-to-day operations of a busy academic office. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and possesses excellent organizational and communication skills.
Responsibilities Of The Administrative Secretary
- Provide administrative support to department leadership and faculty members.
- Manage calendars, appointments, and meeting schedules.
- Prepare, edit, and distribute correspondence and departmental documents.
- Answer phones, respond to emails, and greet visitors professionally.
- Maintain organized filing systems and departmental records.
- Coordinate meetings and assist with office logistics.
- Order office supplies and maintain inventory.
- Assist with data entry, copying, scanning, and general office support.
- Support special projects and additional administrative tasks as assigned.
Required Experience/Skills For The Administrative Secretary
- Previous administrative assistant, secretary, or office support experience.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Professional demeanor with excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize work in a fast-paced office environment.
