The school is authorized by the Georgia Charter Schools Commission and governed by an independent Board of Directors, with a mission to maximize academic achievement for students who are seeking other academic options. The school is operated by Georgia Connections Academy, a nonprofit corporation, through a contract with Connections Academy of Georgia, LLC, to provide its educational program and other services. Position Summary And Responsibilities
Working from the office in Duluth, GA, the Receptionist (School Year 2024 – 2025) is responsible for daily administrative tasks of the school such as answering phones and email, receiving visitors, assisting the principal and teachers with administrative tasks, filing and other duties as assigned.
Key Responsibilities
Greet and assist students, parents, visitors, and staff in a professional and friendly manner.
Answer and direct phone calls, take messages or forward calls, and respond to inquiries.
Maintain visitor sign-in/sign-out logs and issue visitor passes.
Handle incoming mail.
Maintain and update student and staff records in the school database.
Schedule and coordinate meetings, appointments, and events.
Assist with preparing and distributing school newsletters, announcements, and memos.
Support school administrators, teachers, and staff with clerical tasks.
Communicate important information to parents, staff, and students.
Assist with emergency drills and procedures, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
Assist with obtaining supplies that are located throughout the office.
Provide basic information about school policies, schedules, and events.
Direct caretaker to the appropriate staff.
Qualifications And Skills
Associate’s degree preferred.
Prior experience in an administrative or receptionist role (preferably in a school setting).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in Google Suites (Sheets, Docs, Slides, etc) and database management.
Ability to multitask and work in a busy environment.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Professional and friendly demeanor.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
